
Arkansas is the latest state considering legislation that hits beer drinkers, but in this case taxes might actually drop. The Arkansas Senate Revenue and Taxation Committee is recommending a 1 percent retail tax on beer sold in the state to provide funding for abused and neglected children in the state
However, a current 3 percent tax on beer is due to expire this year. If the Legislature does not act to renew the this tax, beer drinkers could actual see a 2 percent decline in the levy on suds.
