Arkansas Renewing Part of Beer Tax
Arkansas is the latest state considering legislation that hits beer drinkers, but in this case taxes might actually drop. The Arkansas Senate Revenue and Taxation Committee is recommending a 1 percent retail tax on beer sold in the state to provide funding for abused and neglected children in the state
However, a current 3 percent tax on beer is due to expire this year. If the Legislature does not act to renew the this tax, beer drinkers could actual see a 2 percent decline in the levy on suds.
