Not a Worry in the World, A Cold Beer in My Hand: The 200 Greatest Drinking Songs of All-Time

Music and drinking must go back in time to the very early days of civilization. The two things just appear to go together. Bar bands and juke boxes are proof that when people drink they like to hear music -- or is it when they hear music they like to drink?

In August 2006, Lyke2Drink published the top 50 drinking songs of all-time. That proved so popular that two years later in February 2008 Lyke2Drink issued our list of the 100 greatest drinking songs. Both lists received a ton of response and they are still among the top 10 posts on this blog on nearly a daily basis.

Since the last list was published we have been listening to a ton of music and new drinking songs have been released. It was pretty easy finding more than 200 songs devoted to the hobby of drinking. The challenge was placing them in order.

This is sure to cause some debate about what has been left in and what has been left out, not to mention the order of the songs. Grab a cold one and listen up. One of these days I'd love to issue this as a boxed set of CDs and sell them on late night television after the bars close.
