Day 323: Free State Copperhead Pale Ale
The Free State Brewing Co. opened in Lawrence in 1989 as the first legal brewery in Kansas in more than 100 years. The 14-barrel brewhouse is located in a renovated trolley station.
Free State Copperhead Pale Ale is a great looking slightly amber gold brew with a lacing thick head. The ale has plenty of hop character in its attractive aroma. The flavor is a citrus bomb. Very well built brew that will be a hit with any fan of true British pale ales. Kind of hard to believe it comes from the middle of the USA.
